Take on a new challenge, share your skills, and learn something new. Help make Britain a place where everyone can belong. Find out about our current opportunities.

What we offer

Consonant is a fully supportive environment where you are challenged to grow and learn new things. No two days are ever the same. Our offices and training rooms are equipped to a high standard, so you can focus on what’s important – helping people thrive.

Our team speak 27 different languages. We are a truly multicultural community, with staff, volunteers and customers from all over the world.

Your impact

People like you are helping make the UK a place where everyone can belong.

Every year we help thousands of people get protection from violence and persecution, learn English, find work, and get more involved in their communities.

Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteers and staff, people are able to rebuild lives, support themselves and their families, and achieve their ambitions.

EU Settled Status Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help run our EU Settled Status advice programme. We are very aware that many EU citizens in the UK are unsure about exactly what they need to do to stay in the UK, and many have questions. There are also many vulnerable EU citizens, and we want to reach out to ensure everyone has the knowledge and support they need.

We plan to run weekly advice sessions, as well as provide IT support for filling in the EU settled status form, and further 1-1 advice where needed. EUSS coordinators will be given training by the Policy and Campaigns manager and will be supported by our Customer Experience manager over the course of the programme. This is an opportunity to develop some incredibly useful skills, as well as make a huge difference to the lives of EU citizens at an unsettling time.

We ask that volunteers are prepared to dedicate 1 day a week for at least 3 months to ensure continuity of service, but we can be flexible to suit other commitments.

NB: this is a support and information service, not a legal advice service.
